How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
  • The Beacons had nine shots on goal and allowed just two to the Huskies. However, McKim stopped all nine shots she faced to keep the game scoreless.
  • Chagnon scored the first goal of the game 6:25 into the second with her 23rd goal of the season. Freshman Olivia Stewart (Fredericton, NB, Canada/The Mount Academy) and sophomore Jess MacLean (Red Point, NS, Canada/Rankin School of the Narrows) recorded the assists.
  • Katie Wilbert tied the game for UMass Boston at 14:42 into the period but senior Amanda Crowley (South Yarmouth, Mass./Tilton School) scored a resilient goal after having her shot blocked twice to put Southern Maine ahead 2-1. Chagnon and senior Maddy Young (Westford, Vt.) assisted.
  • Sophomore Amelie St-Amant (Cornwall, Ontario/Ontario Hockey Academy) gave the Huskies some breathing room with an insurance goal in the third after receiving a pass from senior Jordan Colbert (Manomet, Mass./Plymouth) and skating all the way down the center of the ice from her own zone before ripping a shot past Bosch.
  • Neither team scored on their three power play opportunities.

Up Next: The Huskies will face number two seed Norwich next Saturday at 3PM on the road in the NEHC semifinals.
