How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
- After a scoreless first period that featured the goalies combining for 17 saves the Vikings finally got a puck past McKim 7:18 into the second with a Makayla McGrath goal.
- Chagnon scored her 22nd goal of the season 2:11 into the third period while the Huskies were shorthanded. The goal is her third shorthanded one of the year and matches Jessica Knight's three in 2007-08 for the program record for the most in a season.
- After the Huskies successfully killed off the penalty Madelyn McLeish (Dedham, Mass.) scored her sixth goal of the season to put Southern Maine ahead.
- Senior Maddy Young (Westford, Vt.) recorded the assist on Chagnon's goal while sophomore Jess MacLean (Red Point, NS, Canada/Rankin School of the Narrows) assisted on McLeish's.
- The game featured 10 penalties with neither team scoring on the power play.
