How It Happened:
- Less than five minutes into the game junior Madelyn McLeish (Dedham, Mass.) knocked in the rebound of a shot by Chagnon that was initially saved by Archambeault with her glove but not secured. Senior captain Amanda Crowley (South Yarmouth, Mass./Tilton School) also had an assist on the goal.
- With the Huskies on the power-play Chagnon won the draw on a faceoff and the loose puck bounced to sophomore Caroline Thompson (Crapaud, Prince Edward Island/Mount Academy) who wheeled into the offensive zone then got around a Curry defender and slid the puck into the far side of the net for her first goal of the season.
- Neither team scored in the second period despite the Huskies putting a dozen shots on goal. The Colonels almost cut the lead in half with a two-on-one opportunity but Grayson Goolgasian's shot hit the post.
- Fredenburg made eight saves in the third period to secure the win.
