BABSON PARK, Mass. – The University of Southern Maine Huskies and Babson College Beavers tied 4-4 on Friday night in the first New England Hockey Conference game of the season for each team.

How It Happened:
- Graduate student Nick Ritmo (Niskayuna, N.Y.) scored to give the Huskies the lead 2:36 into the contest. Freshman Kayde Kinaschuk (Calgary, Alberta) recorded the first point of the collegiate career with an assist on the goal and sophomore Conor Donovan (Nahant, Mass./Swampscott) also recorded his first career assist on the play.
- Wyatt George tied the game for Babson about three minutes later but the Huskies went back ahead thanks to an Austin Marini (Hyde Park, Mass./Catholic Memorial) goal.
- Ryan Murphy scored a shorthanded goal 4:37 into the second period to tie the game at 2-2 before junior Mathieu Sabourin (Alexandria, Ontario) netted a power-play goal to reclaim the lead for the Huskies.
- George once again tied the game with a goal 9:04 into the third and Babson took its only lead of the game when Egan Schmitt scored with six minutes left. The lead only lasted for 57 seconds as senior Nolan McElhaney (Natick, Mass./Long Island University) blasted the puck into the back of the net to tie the game shortly after.
- During the overtime period Palmer rose to the occasion and made six saves to keep the game tied.

- McElhaney also had an assist in addition to his goal thanks to Sabourin redirecting his shot into the net.
- Seniors Curtis Judd (Newton, Mass./Albany Academy) and Cole Ouellette (Lewiston, Maine) also had assists for Southern Maine.
- The Huskies went 1-for-6 on the power-play while Babson went 0-for-6.
- Palmer's 44 saves are a career-high.
