GORHAM, Maine – The Western Connecticut State University Wolves defeated the University of Southern Maine Huskies by a score of 3-0 on Monday evening in Little East Conference women's volleyball action.

How It Happened:
- The Wolves took the first set 25-16 behind 17 kills with six of them coming from Helen Megson.
- Western Connecticut won 25-13 in the second set to go up 2-0.
- Despite a strong effort by the Huskies the third set ended in the Wolves' favor 26-24 to conclude the match. The extremely competitive third set featured 10 ties and four lead changes before a late surge gave the Wolves the win.

Inside The Stats:
- Megson and Julia Stoliker each had 12 kills for the Wolves. Junior Isabella Smith (Merrimack, N.H.) led Southern Maine in the category with eight.
- Olivia Monteleone led all players in assists with 36. Senior Sierra Castonguay (Nottingham, N.H./Dover) recorded a game-high 16 digs. Sydney Slupatchuk finished just behind her with 14.
- Senior Brianna Delloiacono (Moodus, Conn./ Nathan Hale-Ray) had six digs and six kills for the Huskies. Western Connecticut recorded 56 kills in the match.
- Southern Maine led in aces 5-3 and each side had seven serving errors.
