Endicott Blanks Southern Maine 4-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – Quin Healy had a goal and two assists for the Endicott College Gulls in a 4-0 non-conference win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies on Saturday evening in women's ice hockey action. Endicott's goals came from four different players and six Gulls recorded points in the contest.

Southern Maine: Ellie Fredenburg (1-1), 60:00, four goals allowed, 34 saves

How It Happened:

  • Endicott, a team that received votes in the first United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) Division III Top 15 poll of the season, scored twice in the first period to set the tone. Teaghan Hall scored the first goal of the game on the power-play goal and assisted on a goal by Healy. Rivers Morris had the assist on Hall's tally.
  • Neither team scored in the second period. Fredenburg made 14 saves in the period while Mortiz stopped six shots.
  • Aurora Devereaux put the Gulls up 3-0 with a goal 18 seconds into the third period and Abbey Agrodnia made the score 4-0 just under five minutes into the final period. Healy assisted on both goals and Samantha Fantasia also assisted on the fourth goal.
Inside The Stats:
  • Endicott went 1-for-2 on the power-play.
  • Fredenburg's 34 saves are a career-high.
  • Junior Madelyn McLeish (Dedham, Mass.) led the Huskies with four shots on goal.
  • Southern Maine led in faceoffs 23-19. Senior Maddy Young (Westford, Vt.) won 12 faceoffs for the Huskies.

 
Up Next:
The Huskies will be making their home debut on Friday, November 3 against Curry College at 6:00 pm. The game is the first of a weekend home-and-home series with the Colonels that will conclude on Saturday at Curry.
