DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The University of Southern Maine women's tennis team wrapped up the 2023 season on Saturday with a 9-0 loss to UMass Dartmouth in Little East Conference action. The Corsairs improve to 8-6 and 4-4 in conference play while the Huskies finish the season 1-9 overall and 1-7 in conference matches.

The Corsairs won first and second doubles 8-1 as IsaBella Winter and Ailey Riddick defeated
Abby Emerson (Gorham, Maine) and junior
Rebecca Hamel (Windham, Maine) in the first flight and Maddie Gonzalez and Bailey Clarke took down senior
Maggie Brock (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) and junior
Chloe McVetty (Windham, Maine) in the second match. Caroline Lemieux and Zuri Walters won 8-2 in the thirds match over
Muriel Lattin (Litchfield, Maine) and
Olivia Vance (Winthrop, Maine).

Emerson suffered a 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) loss to Winter at first singles. Gonzalez won 6-0, 6-0 over Hamel in the seconds match while Walters beat Brock 6-1, 6-1 at the third singles. Fourth singles went to Riddick 6-0, 6-1 over McVetty and fifth singles saw Lattin lose to Clarke 6-0, 6-1. In the number six singles match Lemieux defeated Vance 6-0, 6-2.
