BOSTON - The University of Southern Maine Huskies women's soccer team peppered the UMass Boston defense with double-digit shots in each half, but could not come up with a goal en route to a 0-0 draw with the UMass Boston Beacons in a Little East Conference game Wednesday night at James Cotter Field.
The draw extends the Huskies' unbeaten streak to 14 games (11-0-3) and grows the program record for most games unbeaten. The previous record of 12 games was set in 2022 (UMaine Farmington 9/14/22 through Keene State 10/22/22).

Today's game marked the 29
th meeting between the University of Southern Maine Huskies and the UMass Boston Beacons. Southern Maine narrowly leads the overall series 15-13-1. The Huskies defeated the Beacons 4-0 in 2022, snapping a two-game skid.
How It Happened:
- Southern Maine pressured early as junior Kiki Huntress (Kittery Point, Miane/Traip Academy) registered the Huskies' first shot on goal at the 30 second mark. Huntress' attempt was one of six first half shots on goal and 11 overall.
- UMass Boston goalkeeper Isabelle O'Connell made all six saves in the first half and went on to set a career-high stopping 13 against the Huskies.
- In the second half, Huntress and junior Julia McKenna (Windham, Maine) each had shots saved by O'Connell in the opening minute. McKenna had a strong look at goal in the 74th minute after she was brought down on a carry and awarded a free kick. McKenna's attempt from distance sailed just high of the cross bar.
