GORHAM, Maine – After trailing the University of New England 1-0 after one period the University of Southern Maine women's ice hockey team scored three unanswered goals for a come-from-behind non-conference victory on Friday night. The game was the first for the Huskies since December 6.

When and Where: Friday, January 6, 2023 – Gorham, Maine – USM Ice Arena

Score: Huskies 3, Nor'Easters 1

The Records: Southern Maine: 6-7-0, UNE: 5-8-1

The Goaltenders: Junior Haley McKim (Moncton, NB, Canada): 6-7-0, 26 saves, one goal allowed; Delanie Corcoran: 5-8-1, 19 saves, three goals allowed.

How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:

Each goalie made seven saves in the first period but Hannah Humes put UNE ahead 1-0 with a powerplay goal that was assisted by McKenna Remillard and Eliana Kane.
The Huskies had four shots on goal in the final three minutes but could not get the puck past Corcoran.
Southern Maine tied the game at 1-1 when sophomore Madison Chagnon (St. Albans, Vt./Rice Memorial) hustled off the bench during a line change and intercepted an UNE pass in the offensive zone. Changon fired a shot past Corcoran for her 12^th goal of the season.
Senior Amanda Crowley (South Yarmouth, Mass./Tilton School) put the Huskies up 2-1 just 1:16 later by beating Corcoran between the legs for her third goal of the year. Freshman Olivia Stewart (Fredericton, NB, Canada/The Mount Academy) and sophomore Ally Stymiest (Moncton, NB/The Mount Academy) had the assists on the goal.
Freshman Saige MacLeod (Dryden, ON, Canada/Dryden) scored her first career in the third period to extend the lead to 3-1. Junior Georgie Snow (Yarmouth Port, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth) picked up the assist.
Each team had four powerplays with UNE converting one of their opportunities.
The Huskies blocked 16 shots led by four from senior Jordan Colbert (Manomet, Mass.) and three from sophomore Amelie St-Amant (Cornwall, Ontario/Ontario Hockey Academy).
