How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
  • MacLeod's first goal came 4:07 into the game with freshman Isabella Colarusso-Sprang (Northfield, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) recording her first career assist on the play.
  • Sophomore Madison Chagnon (St. Albans, Vt./Rice Memorial) scored her second shorthanded goal of the season towards the end of the first period to make the score 2-0.
  • Castleton tied the game with power play goals in the first and second periods before the rookie connection of MacLeod, Sydnee Chaisson (Stratford, PEI, Canada/The Mount Academy) and Olivia Stewart (Fredericton, NB, Canada/The Mount Academy) gave the Huskies a 3-2 lead heading into the third period.
  • The Spartans once again tied the game thanks to a Katie Nealon goal 7:41 into the third but MacLeod completed her first career hat trick with a goal 1:34 later with Stewart and Chaisson assisting again.
  • The Huskies scored twice in the final minute thanks to an Amelie St-Amant (Cornwall, Ontario/Ontario Hockey Academy) empty-netter and Chagnon's second goal of the game. Amant assisted on the final goal.
  • Chagnon, who had a hat trick yesterday, finishes the weekend with five goals to bring her season total to 19. Her 19 goals are second in the NEHC this season while her 27 points are currently third in the league.
  • MacLeod now has a three-goal game and a three-assist game on the season, having accomplished the latter in a 5-1 win over Plymouth State on 11/19.
