GORHAM, Maine  –   If you're looking to get on the ice this winter and perfect your hockey stop, practice your Olympic figure skating routine, or more likely enjoy some time skating on an Olympic-sized rink with friends and family, the University of Southern Maine Athletics Department is happy to announce the return of Open Skate Hours at the USM Ice Arena during the month of February.  
 
Huskies' Open Skate is open to both the campus and local community, as well as University of Southern Maine students.  USM students can skate for free with a valid student ID, while the fee schedule for ice time is $5 for adults and $3 for students & seniors.  Skate rentals will not be available with the exception of February 21 and February 23 – the Gorham Recreation Department will provide skate rentals on these to dates.

"Huskies' Athletics is looking forward to welcoming our local community members and students onto the rink at the USM Ice Arena," said Assistant Director of Athletics/Ice Arena Manager Ben White.  "Our ice arena is a tremendous facility that is home to not only our USM men's and women's hockey team, but many local high school and club teams.  It is a great place to recreationally skate, get some exercise, or cheering on your favorite teams."
