GORHAM, Maine  –   University of Southern Maine Athletics invites girls (K-8) from Gorham and surrounding communities to join Husky teams and student-athletes in celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports Day with a free and fun evening of games, team building activities, a pizza party, and more on Wednesday, February 1 (5:30 – 7:30 pm).
 
Coaches from the University of Southern Maine field hockey, softball, women's lacrosse and volleyball teams and student-athletes from the women's teams will lead our Husky guests of honor in a variety of activities at the Costello Sports Complex, and then will head to Hill Gymnasium to cheer on the Huskies' women's basketball team before being honored at halftime with recognition of National Girls & Women in Sports Day. Following halftime, Huskies' guests will be treated to a pizza party.
 
Celebrating the 37^th anniversary of National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) – an event that celebrates and inspires girls and women to play, to be active and realize their full potential, Huskies' Athletics is excited to celebrate this special event in conjunction with the 50^th Anniversary of Title IX.  Registration is required.
