GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore
Madison Chagnon (St. Albans, Vt./Rice Memorial) recorded two assists for the University of Southern Maine Huskies on Saturday afternoon in a 4-2 New England Hockey Conference loss to the Johnson & Wales Wildcats. The win by JWU gives the Wildcats a series split with the Huskies after falling 2-1 in overtime back in November.

How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
- Kaylin Garner scored the first goal of the game after corralling a misplayed puck and guiding it into the back of the net.
- Allyson Barry doubled the Wildcat lead with a power play goal 18:17 into the second period.
- The Huskies got on the board with 11 seconds left in the second period thanks to a goal by freshman Olivia Stewart (Fredericton, NB, Canada). Stewart now has scored six goals on the season and has recorded points in four of the last five games.
- Kylie O'Keefe gave the visitors breathing room with a goal to make it 3-1 three minutes into the third period.
- Senior Amanda Crowley (South Yarmouth, Mass./Tilton School) scored her fifth goal of the year to make it 3-2 with just over 11 minutes left to play however Skylar Robert scored an empty-netter to put a nail in the Huskies' coffin.
- Chagnon assisted on both Southern Maine goals while classmate Jess MacLean (Red Point, NS, Canada) had an assist on Stewart's goal.
- Johnson & Wales went 1-for-3 on power plays while the Huskies failed to convert their two opportunities.
