WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior goalie
Haley McKim (Moncton, NB, Canada) made 41 saves while allowing just one goal as the University of Southern Maine women's ice hockey team defeated Worcester State University 2-1 on Tuesday. The two teams previously played in Gorham on Saturday with the Lancers defeating the Huskies 6-3.

How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
- Each goalie made 16 saves in a scoreless first period.
- Freshman Caroline Thompson (Crapaud, PEI, Canada) broke the 0-0 tie with her first career goal 6:01 into the second period. Sophomore Ally Stymiest (Moncton, NB, Canada) and junior Georgie Snow (Yarmouth Port, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth) had the assists on the goal.
- Freshman Olivia Stewart (Fredericton, NB, Canada) doubled the lead 15:50 in the period with sophomore Jess MacLean (Red Point, NS, Canada) assisting.
- The Lancers ended the potential shutout with a Sydney Vautour in the final five minutes but could not tie the game.
- With her goal today Stewart scored in both games of the home-and-home series with WSU while Stymiest recorded assists in both games.
- McKim now has made 40 plus saves in four games this season and is 2-2 in those games.
