Emma Forgues (Gorham, Maine), freshman Ciera Hill (Pembroke, NH/Pembroke Academy) and graduate student
Ciera Berthiaume (Windham, Maine) each scored a goal as the University of Southern Maine Huskies defeated the Saint Joseph's College Monks 4-1 in a non-conference women's soccer game Sunday afternoon at the SJC Sports Complex.
With the win, Southern Maine now leads the 33-game series over the Monks 18-13-2. The Huskies defeated the Monks 5-0 in 2021.

How It Happened:
- Forgues put the Huskies up 1-0 in the 11th minutes and the score stood until the second half when SJC defensive mistake led to an own goal and a 2-0 Southern Maine advantage.
- Monk freshman Kate Russell reduced the SJC deficit in the 65th minutes cleaning up a loose ball after a corner kick; however, Southern Maine bounced right back to lead 3-1 in the 68th minute when Hill scored her first intercollegiate goal, collecting a rebound off of a shot taken by junior Eliza Roy (Camden, Maine/Camden Hills).
- Berthiaume, the Huskies' all-time leading goal scorer, made it 4-1 in the final seconds of the game, scoring in the 90th minute, off of a feed from junior Kiaya Gatchell (Portland, Maine/Deering).

Inside The Stats:
- Stonebraker's eight second-half saves are a career high for the Huskies' sophomore goalkeeper.
- Southern Maine has had five different goal scorers this season and are outscoring its opponents 6-1 over two games. One goal of the six for USM is an own goal.
Up Next:
Southern Maine remains on the road and heads to Westfield State University on Wednesday (7:00 pm) for a non-conference game. The Huskies host their first home game of 2022 on Saturday (3:00 pm) against University of New England.
