How It Happened:
  •  McKenna gave USM a 1-0 lead in the 24th minutes completing the assist from junior Catriona Gould (Freeport, Maine).  McKenna's goal stood through the half as the Huskies were unable to score another past CU goalkeeper Alex Benfatti despite holding a 9-4 lead in shots.
  • Gould scored the Huskies second goal of the game early in the second half running onto a well-paced pass from graduate student Ciera Berthiaume (Windam, Maine) in the 47th minute.
  • McKenna made it 3-0 in the 51st minute, cleaning up a loose ball in the box on a hustle play and hitting a hard shot into the right side of the net.
  • Gould rounded out the scoring for USM benefitting again from an excellent pass.  Senior Emma Forgues (Gorham, Maine) won a ball in the midfield and then lofted a ball into the Huskies' offensive third, allowing Gould to split the defense and have an open look at net.
  • USM junior goalkeeper Breanna Atwood (Franklin, Mass.) made six saves in the shutout, making four in the second half.
