CASTLETON, Vermont – Stanley Anderson scored in the 86
th minute to lift the Castleton University Spartans to a 1-0 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a Little East Conference men's soccer game Saturday afternoon at Dave Volk Stadium.

How It Happened:
- Scoring his first goal of the season, Anderson cleaned up a rebound on an effort from Gonzalez Arakaza to net the game-winner.
- Both teams battled through a scoreless first half registering four shots each. The Huskies had a pair of chances on target in the closing minutes of the first half, including a shot from Mohamed Abdurahman (Portland, Maine/Deering) in the 42nd minute but CU goalkeeper Andres Soto-Burgos came up with the stop. '
- Southern Maine outshot the Spartans 10-5 in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net. The Spartans pressured late, and Arakaza's initial attempt on goal was turned back by USM senior goalkeeper Hayes Estrella (Kennebunk, Maine/Thornton Academy), but Anderson was able to get to the loose ball and score.
