GORHAM, Maine – Junior
Catriona Gould (Freeport, Maine) scored two goals as the University of Southern Maine Huskies defeated the UMaine Farmington Beavers 4-0 in a non-conference women's soccer game Wednesday evening at Hannaford Field.
Gould scored in each half as the Huskies improved to 4-1 on the season. Meeting for the 34
th time in series history, Southern Maine now leads the Beavers 26-5-4. The Huskies defeated UMF 3-1 in Farmington during the 2021 season.

How It Happened:
- Gould broke open the scoring in the 17th minute netting her first goal of the game and second goal of the season, collecting a loose ball in the top of the box and rifling a shot to the lower left corner.
- The Huskies went into the halftime break up 2-0 thanks to a Gaby Panagakos (Scarborough, Maine) goal in the 28th minute. Collecting another 50/50 ball in the box, Panagakos snuck a goal into the far right post for her second goal of the season.
- Gould made it 3-0 in the 56th minute when she ran onto a ball in the center of the field, took two touches to split the UMF defense and went one-v-one with the keeper, hitting the back of the net to the right corner.
- Freshman Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) closed the scoring for the Huskies in the 68th minute for the 4-0 final. Reitchel tapped in her first intercollegiate goal on a square ball across the front of the goal from Panagakos.

- USM led UMF 32-2 in shots (13-1 on target) and had a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks. UMF did not register its first shot of the game until the 61st minute.
- Sophomore Hunter Stonebraker's (Mont Vernon, NH/Souhegan) win is the third of her career and first of 2022. Stonebraker had wins over Eastenr Nazarene and Maine Maritime as a rookie.
