WATERVILLE, Maine – Julia Reny scored three second half goals to lead the Thomas College Terriers to a 5-0 shutout win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a non-conference field hockey game Thursday night at Bernatchez Field
Both teams were playing in their season-opener. Meeting for the seventh time, Thomas leads the series 5-2. Southern Maine defeated the Terriers 6-5 in 2021, and Thomas was a 1-0 victor in the 2019 meeting.

How It Happened:
- After a scoreless first half, Thomas' Reny scored the first of her three goals in the game breaking the deadlock in the 34th minute.
- Thomas led 2-0 before the end of the third as Eva-Marie Stevens scored in the 42nd minutes.
- The Terriers quickly doubled their advantage to 4-0 in the fourth scoring in the 51st and 54th minute on Reny's second goal of the game and Kayci Faulkingham's first.
- Reny completed the scoring as the clock wound down for the 5-0 final and the hat trick.
