GORHAM, Maine – Spencer Jones (Barnstable, Mass.) scored five goals to lead nine Buccaneers in scoring as the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Buccaneers took down the University of Southern Maine Huskies 19-8 in Gorham on Saturday afternoon. The game marked the first Little East Conference matchup of the season for the Huskies.

How It Happened/Inside the Box Score:
-The Buccaneers opened the game on a 8-0 run until the end of the second quarter when Tuckner Nussinow (Winthrop, Maine/Kent Hills School) scored his first of four goals to get the Huskies on the board.
-Both the Huskies and the Buccaneers would strike again in the second quarter as Jack Iversen (Hull, Mass.) and Nick James (Portland, Maine/Deering) found their way onto the stat sheet. At the half, Mass. Maritime led 9-2.
-Nussinow scored twice during the third quarter, but Mass. Maritime preserved their lead, adding seven goals to their total.
