GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine women's indoor track and field team picked up three weekly honors when the Little East Conference announced its awards for the week ending February 06. 

Freshman Phoebe Slovenski (Cape Neddick, Maine/York) earned Rookie Field Athlete of the Week honors, Catriona Gould (Freeport, Maine/Freeport) was awarded Rookie Track Athlete of the Week, and the Huskies' 4x200 meter relay of Gould, Maddie Fornasier (South Burlington, VT/South Burlington), Anna Reny (Gardiner, Maine/Cony), and Emma Noonan (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) picked up Relay of the Week recognition. 

At the Maine State Championships on Saturday, the Huskies' 4x200m relay team posted a 1:47.63. The relay team took down regional powerhouses Bates and Bowdoin and finished just over a second behind Colby. Their time currently ranks sixth in the region.

Gould had a busy day at the Maine State Championships, competing in the 4x200m relay, the 4x400m relay, and the 200m dash. Gould won the 200m dash with a time of 26.62s, which is second in the Little East Conference this season and sixth in the region. Following the win, Gould helped the 4x200 to a second place finish and the 4x400m relay to a third place finish in 4:17.97. Gould ran the lead-off leg in both relays.

Clearing 3.10m for the first time this season and setting a new collegiate best, Slovenski finished fourth at the Maine State Championships. Her mark of 3.10m is the top mark in the Little East Conference this season by almost three feet and is eighth in the region.

The Huskies are back in action this weekend as they are slated to travel to Massachusetts Institute of Technology for the Gordon Kelley Invitational on Saturday, February 12.
