NORTH Dartmouth, Mass. – Despite a fast start and a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double from senior
Victoria Harris (Altus, Okla./Lewiston) the University of Southern Maine Huskies fell to the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs 84-63 in a Little East Conference women's basketball game Saturday afternoon at the Tripp Athletic Center. The game is the third in four days for the Huskies – all on the road.
The Corsairs shot 55.6 percent (30-for-54) from the floor and 55 percent (11-for-20) from three in the win and had four players in double figures led by 15 points and six rebounds from Meagan Donovan.
Harris' double-double was her second consecutive and fourth of the season. Her 23 points led all scorers as she finished the game 10-for-14 from the field. Sophomore
Ashlee Aceto (South Portland, Maine) scored a career and season-high 14 points for the Huskies, making 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.

How It Happened:
- Outscoring the Corsairs 20-13 in the first quarter thanks in part to six points from Harris and a perect 7-for-7 mark from the free throw line from senior Michelle Rowe (Gorham, Maine), Southern Maine scored the first eight points of the second quarter for a 28-14 lead. Freshman Tamrah Gould (Manchester, N.H.) and sophomore Amy Fleming (Berwick, Maine) each hit threes to start and senior Jackie Luckhardt (Londonderry, N.H.) found Harris for a bucket in the paint in the opening 90 seconds.
- UMass Dartmouth overcame the 14-point defici, however,t using a 16-2 run as part of a 23-10 second quarter to snag a 37-30 halftime lead.
- The Corsairs were 7-for-11 from the field (63.6 percent) from the field in the second quarter and were led by eight points from Carroll in the frame.
- In the third quarter, the Corsairs continued their hot-shooting sinking 67 percent (10-for-15) from the floor and led 62-43 heading into the fourth quarter.
- The Huskies pulled to within 12 of UMass Dartmouth in the opening three minutes of the fourth with an 12-5 run to trail 67-55, but were unable to get closer the rest of the way.
Inside the Stats:
- Graduate student Jackie Luckhardt (Londonderry, N.H.) now has 893 points, 499 rebounds, 309 assists and 292 steals in her career. Luckhardt's six assists in today's game matched her season-high. Her career-high for assists in a game is seven.
- Harris now has 816 points, 427 rebounds, 57 assists, 132 steals and 84 blocked shots in her career.
- Sophomore Ashlee Aceto (South Portland, Maine) 14 points marked a career-high for the Husky first-year player. She was 5-for-8 from the field and 3-for-4 from three-point range.

Southern Maine remains in Little East Conference action and will play its fourth contest in the last five days when it hosts UMass Dartmouth on Sunday (1:00 pm). The Huskies will honor and recognize two of its legendary alumnae: Allison Gagnon Gray '95 and Katariina Pulkkinen-Hoaas '93 at halftime of the contest. Gray and Pulkkinen-Hoaas were both recently inducted into the Little East Conference Hall of Fame.
