How It Happened:
- After giving up the first basket of the game, a layup to Luckhardt off of the tip, UMass Dartmouth tied the score on and took the lead, 5-2, on five consecutive points from Carreiro on a layup and a three.
- The Corsairs maintained their lead throughout and led by 11, 63-52, with 7:40 remaining in the fourth following a three point shot from Andrews on a feed from Morretti.
- Down double-figures and four possession, Southern Maine rallied with a 12-2 run over the next five minutes to trail by a point 65-64 with 2:35 remaining. After Andrews' three, the Huskies' Harris went on a tear scoring nine of her 25 points, bring USM to within one sinking one of two free throws.
- Both teams exchanged one-of-two free throws over the next few possessions and the Huskies remained behind UMassD 66-65 with 1:00 on the clock. Following a missed three from USM, Andrews corralled a defensive board, and Moretti gave her team a two-point lead 67-65 with 15 seconds to play, again making one-of-two from the line.
- USM senior Katie Bagley (Ellsworth, Maine) secured the defensive board on the missed free throw and the Huskies had a final look at the basket with a three-pointer, but the attempt fell just short and Moretti grabbed the miss as the clock wound down.
