- Southern Maine's Harris and sophomore Amy Fleming (Berwick, Maine) scored the first two buckets of the fourth – both layups – to give the Huskies a 52-41 lead with 9:16 to play. However, after Flemings layup Southern Maine went cold from the field and the Beacons tore off a 9-0 run over the next two minutes to trail by a bucket, 52-50, with 6:53 to play. UMB was 4-for-4 during that stretch and Greene scored four of UMB's nine. USM was 0-for-3.
- Luckhardt interrupted the Beacon run with a layup at the 6:37 mark for a 54-50 Husky advantage. After nearly 90 seconds without either team scoring Dixon scored in the paint to again make it a one bucket game before Ollivierre hit the first of her two fourth quarter threes to give the Beacons a 55-54 lead.
- Ramsdell scored for USM at the 3:59 mark to give USM a 56-55 lead before Farina tied it up with one of two free throws at the 3:39 mark for a 56-56 game.
- The game remained tied for the next 1:10 before Ollivierre sank the go-ahead three for a 59-56 Beacon lead with 2:20 to go. The score remained unchanged for the next two minutes as USM went 0-4 and had a turnover on its next five possessions while UMB was 0-for-2 with a turnover.
- With just 29 seconds to play, USM was forced to foul and Farina, Dixon and Ollivierre went 6-for-6 down the stretch to complete the 65-58 win.
