Herons Hold Off Huskies in NEHC Play

GORHAM, Maine – William Smith College defeated the University of Southern Maine Huskies by a score of 3-0 in New England Hockey Conference women's ice hockey action on Saturday afternoon.
 
When and Where: Saturday, November 5, 2022 – University of Southern Maine – USM Ice Arena
 
Score: Herons 3, Huskies 0
 
History: The teams have now met four times with each side winning two games.

How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
  • Elizabeth Macmurray scored a power-play goal for the Herons just 14 into the man advantage to put William Smith up 1-0.
  • Kayla Ketchabaw doubled the Heron lead in the second period with goal that was assisted by Annabel Ziskin and Alex George.
  • Ketchabaw added an empty-netter in the final minute of the game to make the final score 3-0.
  • Sophomore Madison Chagnon (St. Albans, Vt./Rice Memorial) and junior Georgie Snow (Yarmouth Port, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth) led the Huskies with four shots each.
