Madison Chagnon (St. Albans, Vt./Rice Memorial) scored 3:18 into overtime to give the University of Southern Maine women's ice hockey team their first win of the season on Friday night at Johnson & Wale University.

How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
- Sophomore Madelyn McLeish (Dedham, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season 7:10 into the first period. Chagnon provided the assist, her second of the season.
- Hailey Boyle tied the game at 1-1 with a goal 11:30 into the first with Harmony Chicoose assisting.
- The Huskies had twice as many shots (14-7) in the second period as the Wildcats and JWU reversed the trend in the third by outshooting USM 8-4.
- In overtime Chagnon gathered a rebound off the boards and slid the puck off the back leg of Tamayo and into the back of the net to give the Huskies their first win of the season.
- Chagnon's goal is her third of the season and the assists went to senior Maddy Young (Westford, Vt.) and freshman Caroline Thompson (Crapaud, PEI, Canada)
- Senior Amanda Crowley (South Yarmouth, Mass./Tilton School)Â and Chagnon each took six shots for the Huskies.
- Allyson Barry led the Wildcats with five shots.
