GORHAM, Maine – Freshman Ally Stymiest (Moncton, NB/The Mount Academy) scored the game-winning goal in the second period to lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies to a 2-1 win over the Castleton University Spartans on Friday night in Gorham.

How It Happened/Inside the Box Score:
-After a scoreless first period, Chagnon hit a one-timer to put the Huskies up 1-0. Rylie Binette (Milan, N.H./Berlin) ripped a shot that bounced off of DiCicco, right in front of the goal for Chagnon to tap in.
-The Spartans responded just a minute later as Alex Johnson (Andover, Mass.) and Ryanne Mix (Pasco, Wash.) found Jenna Krikorian (Worcester, Mass.) for the equalizer.
-With just over three minutes left in the third period, Stymiest took a beautiful pass from Georgie Snow (Yarmouth Port, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth) and found the back of the net to give the Huskies a 2-1 lead.
-McKim made 10 of her 19 saves in the third period to fend off a late push from Castleton.
-Shannon Colbert (Manomet, Mass./Tilton School) blocked four shots against the Spartans, bringing her season total to 30 blocked shots.
-This was the first time the Huskies beat Castleton since November 16, 2013.
