GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine women's indoor track and field team picked up four weekly awards when the Little East Conference announced its awards for the week ending January 9. 

Junior Rosemary Train (Long Island, Maine/Cheverus) earned Track Athlete of the Week honors, while freshman Ella Boucher (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) picked up Rookie Field Athlete of the Week honors, and sophomore Catriona Gould (Freeport, Maine/Freeport) earned Rookie Track Athlete of the Week. The Huskies' 4x200 meter relay of Boucher, Gould, sophomore Emma Noonan (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle), and freshman Heaven Conley (Ogunquit, Maine/Wells) picked up Relay of the Week recognition. 

Train posted a winning time of 1:49.79 in the 600 meter run at the USM Open II, which currently ranks 14th in New England Division III. She also was a key member of the Huskies' 4x400 meter relay team that bested its competitors by over 28 seconds with a winning time of 4:42.40.

Competing in the long jump for the first time this season, Boucher won the event with a jump of 4.80 meters, which ranks 19th in New England Division III this season. Boucher also stood out on the track, taking third in the 200m dash with a time of 28.40.

Rookie Track Athlete of the Week Gould also had a big day at the USM Open II. Gould won the 55 meter dash with a winning time of 7.50 seconds, tying her lifetime PR in the event. Her 60 meter converted time ranks ninth in New England Division III this season.

The Huskies' 4x200 relay of Boucher, Gould, Conley, and Noonan turned in a winning time of 1:53.19, a full 24 seconds faster than the second place team. 

The Huskies are back in action this weekend as they are slated to travel to Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday, January 15.
