How It Happened:
- USM pressed often in the first half but only led the Monks 1-0 at the break despite holding a 10-0 advantage in shots. Husky junior Emma Forgues (Gorham, Maine) gave USM the 1-0 advantage in the fourth minute knocking in a loose ball for her third goal of the season.
- The Huskies' sophomore Catriona Gould (Freeport, Maine) scored back-to-back goals early in the second half to give USM a comfortable 3-0 cushion. Gould's first goal in the 55th minute was assist by Forgues who freed Gould into the box with a strong through ball. Gould scored her second goal of the game and fifth of the season in the 63rd minute on a solid piece of individual work. Picking the ball up near midfield, Gould used her pace and control to cut into the SJC defense before launching a shot to the far post.
- Junior Katie Lynch (Bellingham, Mass./Mount Saint Charles) made it 4-0 in the 83rd, volleying in her second goal of the season following a corner kick delivery off of the foot of Berthiaume.
- Berthiaume capped the Huskies' scoring in the 87th minute breaking the USM women's soccer program's all-time goal record. Berthiaume took a lofted pass from sophomore Sarah Lowell (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee) and took a touch toward goal, and sprinting into the box before launching a top-shelf goal for her fifth score of the season.
- Saint Joseph's hit the cross bar twice in the second half. Senior Eildh Sidaway (Dedham, Maine) had her shot carom off of the top of the goal in the 67th minute. In the 85th, junior Nikki Sheehan (Medford, Mass.) had two quality attempts, striking the cross bar on the first and putting the rebound on frame for a save.
