GORHAM, Maine – Welcoming alumni, family and Husky fans back to campus, the University of Southern Maine Department of Athletics will host a number of events as part of the University's Homecoming and Family Weekend October 14-17.
With events scheduled for both the Portland and Gorham campus events range from music concerts, athletic contests, casino night, and more, and will include activities for alumni, students, friends, and family. To find a full schedule of University of Southern Maine Homecoming check out:

"Homecoming is a wonderful tradition at USM and we're so pleased to have an opportunity to host and sponsor a number of games and activities that will be taking place this year," said USM Director of Athletics
Al Bean. "We're excited to welcome back our alumni and friends and engage with them about their memories of the past, the status of the present program and the future of athletics at USM. I look forward to seeing lots of former Huskies on campus during the weekend's festivities."
Beginning with a featured alumni
Husky Pack Chat on Thursday, October 14 and concluding with the 35th Husky Hall of Fame on Sunday, the weekend is full of USM Athletics, including alumni contests for women's basketball, women's lacrosse, men's lacrosse.
Current USM student-athletes will be in action over the weekend at Hill Gym and at Hannaford Field on Saturday, October 15. Huskies' volleyball hosts Rhode Island College and Husson University in a tri-match beginning at 12 pm, while the women's soccer team takes on Rhode Island College at 1 pm. The men's ice hockey team will also be in action on Saturday (6:00 pm) in its annual Blue & White Scrimmage at the USM Ice Arena. Fans won't want to miss this chance to catch Husky teams in action.
Alumni, fans, family and friends are also invited to partake in a variety of social events hosted by the Huskies' Athletic Department and teams. Women's Lacrosse welcomes back its alumnae on Saturday, October 16 (4:00 pm) at Hannaford Field, while women's basketball will host its annual alumnae contest on Sunday, October 17 (11:00 am) at Hill Gym. Men's lacrosse invites its alumni to compete on Sunday (5:30) at Hannaford Field.
In addition to the games scheduled for Saturday, Huskies' Athletics will also host fun tailgating type events for Husky fans, including an Athletics' Welcome BBQ (meal plans, Husky Bucks and cash accepted) in front of the Costello Sports Complex from 11 am – 2 pm, so you can grab some food and head out to cheer for your favorite Husky teams in action. From 4 pm – 7 pm in the Alumni Reception Center (located within the USM Ice Arena), fans, friends and family members are invited to stop by the Husky Alumni Reception and catch Blue & White Scrimmage featuring men's ice hockey.
If running (especially in costume from zombies) is your thing, USM women's cross country, track & field are hosting their second
Zombie Run: Two Miles of Terror on Friday, October 15. Hosted at Shaw Cherry Hill Farm in Gorham, there will be prizes for the fastest, best costume and the event will include a Kids' Fun Run prior to the main event.
Thursday night's Husky Pack Chat: Alumni Panel is part of an ongoing series co-authored by the USM Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and USM's Career & Employment Hub. This installment of Husky Pack Chat will feature alumnus from Southern Maine's golf, women's basketball and softball teams, Shaun McKinnon '19 (History), Kimberly Howrigan '19 (Accounting) and Kayleigh Bohan '20 (Criminology), and is an opportunity for current Husky student-athletes, and those interested, to learn first-hand about the student-athlete experience post-graduation and what it's like to begin the first steps of a job hunt and career launch.
The weekend's athletic festivities conclude with the
35th Husky Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony. USM Athletics will formally recognize its Class of 2020 inductees with a celebration at the Sheraton Sable Oaks in South Portland, Maine. An RSVP and tickets are required for attendance. Joining the Husky Hall of Fame are former USM standout student-athletes Darci Holland '05 (field hockey, softball), Stacy (LeBlanc) Salvo '06 (women's soccer), Ryan Bourque '07 (baseball), Melissa (Bellemore) Mayo-Smith '07 (women's track & field), Colin Reilly '09 (men's soccer), Nicole (Paradis) Pollock '10 (women's basketball), Tyler Jasud '11 (men's cross country, track & field), Tucker White '13 (baseball).
