GORHAM, Maine –The University of Southern Maine women's cross country program is hosting their second annual Zombie Run: Two Miles of Terror at the Shaw Cherry Hill Trails next to Sebago Brewing on Friday, October 15th.
Co-Sponsored by the women's cross country team, Gorham Outdoors Club, and Gorham Recreation, this two-mile fun-run will have some terrifying and scary ghouls on the race path. Participants are encouraged to dress in costumes as there will be awards given out not only for race performances but also for best costumes. There will be a shorter kids' run with a few "spooky" distractions along the way.
The cross country program will be assisted by Performer's At Work (PAW), a student-run group dedicated to providing equal opportunities for students to engage in all aspects of the arts. PAW will help out the cross country team with zombie costumes and makeup, materials for face painting and props, lights, and music to make the run more fun!
Interested participants are encouraged to buy tickets for $10.00 through the following link up top in the story.
Registration and check-in start at 6:30 p.m. on the night of the 15th. Children are encouraged to come early for some face painting! The kids' run kicks off at 7:30 p.m. while the two-mile main event goes off at 8:00 p.m. There will be awards and raffle prizes after each run!
