Gorham, Maine -- The Rhode Island College Anchormen swept the singles points and all but one of the doubles points on their way to an 8-1 win over Southern Maine on Saturday in Gorham. With the win, the Anchormen move to 3-0 on the season, while the Huskies fall to 1-2. 

Senior Adam Papayoanou (Valencia, Calif./Valencia) and freshman Cole Ouellette (Lewiston, Maine/Lewiston) picked up the lone win of the day for the Huskies at first doubles. The pair took down Rhode Island College's Alex Borque and Michael Crawley 8-3.

The Huskies' freshmen Ethan Rudnicki (Levant, Maine/Hermon) and Antoine Gignac (Quebec City, Quebec/St.Lawrence) stayed competitive early on with Ethan Hoy and Josh Brien at third doubles, before dropping their match 8-4.

Rhode Island College's Max Blais and Mike Shea won the match at second doubles 8-1 over senior Shawn Gagnier (Lewiston, Maine/Lewiston) and junior Jonathan Bartuccio-Pereira (St. Bruno, Quebec/Antoine-Girourard).

At second singles, Ouellette pushed Blais in the first set, but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-2. Bartuccio-Pereira had a competitive second set at fourth singles, but dropped his match to Hoy 6-2, 6-4. 

The Huskies are back in action Friday, April 23rd as they host Western Connecticut State University in a Little East Conference match.
