GORHAM, Maine – Jack Richards scored four goals to lead the Colby College Mules to a 17-3 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a non-conference men's lacrosse game Saturday afternoon at Hannaford Field.
Playing in its first contest of 2021, Colby starts its season at 1-0. The Huskies drop their second in as many games to stand at 0-2. The Huskies are back in action on Saturday, April 3 for a Little East Conference match up with Western Connecticut. Game time is 1:00 pm.
Richards led the Mule offense and was complimented by three goals from Jack Goller and two goals Henry Popko. Eight other Mules scored a goal in the win. The Mules outscored the Huskies 5-1 in the opening quarter, and then scored four goals each in the second, third and fourth.

Tristan Dundas (Abbotsford, British Columbia/Sardis Secondary) and
Joe Cullinan (Contoocook, N.H./Hopkinton) and freshman
Andrew Lawrence (North Yarmouth, Maine/Greely) each scored for the Huskies. Lawrence's goal was the first of his intercollegiate career.
Colby's Matt Rocha and Billy Chizmar shared the goal. Rocha allowed three goals and made nine saves to earn the win, while Chizmar made a pair of save. The Huskies' goalie, junior
Josh Cahill (Bristol, Conn./Bristol Central), took the loss allowing nine goals and making four saves. He was replaced by freshman
Nathan Plourde (Otisfield, Maine/Oxford Hills) who closed out the game allowing eight goals and making eight saves.
