GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine women's indoor track and field team picked up three weekly awards when the Little East Conference announced its awards for the week ending December 12. 

Sophomore Olivia Jalbert (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) earned Field Athlete of the Week honors, while freshman Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton/Thornton Academy) earned Rookie Field Athlete of the Week. The Huskies' 4x400 meter relay of senior Emily Colby (Lunenburg, V.T./Lyndon Academy), freshman Sophia Poole (Oakland, Maine/Waterville), junior Maddie Fornasier (South Burlington, V.T./South Burlington), and sophomore Emma Noonan (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) picked up Relay of the Week recognition. 

In her final attempt in the high jump at 1.67m, Jalbert cleared the mark, setting a new school record. Jalbert's jump of 1.67m currently sits at third in Division III this season. Jalbert also competed in the long jump, jumping 5.05m for second place. 

Rookie Field Athlete of the Week Boudreau also had a big day at the USM Open I. Boudreau placed second in the shot put with a throw of 12.06m, which is ranked 21st in Division III this season. She also took fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 11.60m.

The Huskies' 4x400 relay of Colby, Poole, Fornasier, and Noonan turned in a time of 4:34.34 on their way to a second place finish. USM's anchor leg Noonan leaned at the line to edge out the team from Franklin Pierce by .17 seconds. 

The Huskies are back in action after the new year as they are set to host the USM Open II on January 8.
