USM had a powerplay for the first advantage of the game for either team and ripped off seven shots, but couldn't find the back of the cage. Late in the period, McKim made a huge save off a breakaway chance by Courtney Gauthier keeping it a 1-0 contest at the intermission.

-Just 6:07 into the second stanza, Emily Harris tallied an unassisted score for her fourth goal of the season which more importantly evened the bout at 1-1. With one second to go, Castleton took the lead via a Katherine Campoli goal putting the Spartans in front 2-1 heading into the third period. After outshooting the hosts 19-6 in the first, USM was out produced 18-14 in the second.

-Campoli's score ended up being the game-winner. Southern Maine pulled McKim with 1:07 left and threw three shot attempts with the player advantage at the net and could not record the game-tying goal.

-Southern Maine outshot Castleton 46-31 in the game.

-Castleton was 2-for-3 (66.7%) on the power play.
