PLYMOUTH, New Hampshire –The University of Southern Maine women's ice hockey team won their third consecutive game with a 3-0 shutout of New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) opponent Plymouth State University Friday evening. Reigning NEHC Goaltender of the Week
Haley McKim (Moncton, NB, Canada) notched her second shutout of the year while adding her first career assist and freshman defender
Jess MacLean (Red Point, NS, Canada) scored her first collegiate goal.

How It Happened/Inside the Box Score:
-The Huskies went on the power play in the first period which was the first chance for either side in the game on the advantage. USM could not get any shots on net during the opportunity. USM, however did outshoot PSU 15-to-5 in the first stanza including a 9-on-3 on goal edge.
-In the second, Plymouth State drew an early 5-on-3 powerplay opportunity when a Husky was sent to the box for a hook a couple of seconds into the new period. McKim withstood multiple chances and a few Husky defenders blocked shots to successfully kill off the opportunities. MacLean jumpstarted the Huskies offense snapping a wrister about five minutes in. A couple of minutes later, junior
Peyton Dukas (Fiarfield, Vt.) smoked a one-timer off a cross ice pass. With under seven minutes to go in the second. Snow joined the party collecting MacLean's pass for the score.
-Plymouth State hit the pipe once in the third period and the rebound wrap around attempt was stifled by McKim. Five minutes remained when McKim stonewalled a breakaway attempt to preserve the shutout.
-McKim tallied her second shutout over the last three games. In those three Husky wins, McKim has allowed one goal (0.33 goals-against average) with 63 saves and a .984 save percentage.
Up Next: Southern Maine remains away from the friendly confines of the USM Ice Arena when they take on Castleton University tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
