GORHAM, Maine – Join University of Southern Maine Athletics and Counseling Services on November 18 (7:30 pm) for "Breaking The Stigma: You're Not Alone" - a live conversation and presentation about resilience, hope, mental health, and the experience of student-athletes.

Andrew Onimus, a former football student-athlete at Division III Muhlenberg College, from Minding Your Mind, will share his own story and lead the interactive discussion about mental health, including specific challenges faced by student-athletes. Minding Your Mind is an organization dedicated to ending stigma and destructive behaviors associated with mental health issues and seeks to established proactive methods of suicide and crisis prevention.

Samantha Norris, and University Counseling services, the event is free and open to all USM community members. Interested student-athletes, coaches, Athletics staff and the general USM population can Pre-Register for the event and get a zoom link. University counselors will be on the call and available to participants.
