GORHAM, Maine – Led by four two-point performances, the University of Southern Maine women's ice hockey team won their fourth game in six chances this season using a scorching hot second period in which they scored four times en route to a New England Hockey Conference victory against Johnson & Wales University Saturday afternoon in matinee hockey action.

How It Happened/Inside the Box Score:
-Johnson & Wales opened the scoring just 1:36 into the contest when Hannah Tracy cashed in a shot attempt off a rebound. The Huskies leveled the battled with about two and a half minutes to play when Chagnon collected a juicy rebound off a freshman defender
Jess MacLean (Red Point, NS, Canada) shot and put home the attempt deadlocking the score minutes before the intermission.
-The second period was all Huskies as Stymiest notched her first collegiate goal when she took the loose puck, went behind the goal, and snuck a wrap-around on the near post putting USM up for good. About six minutes passed when Stymiest struck again receiving a sophomore defender
Eryn Taber (Tewksbury, Massachusetts) feed from behind the cage for the one-timer increasing the margin to 3-1. Graduate student
Shannon Colbert (Manomet, Massachusetts) forced a turnover at the blue line and immediately went into the attacking zone, she passed possession to Binette for the easy score. 30 seconds later, the Huskies piled on their fifth goal of the game.
-Taber tallied her team-leading fifth and sixth assist of the season. Her six helpers rank second in the NEHC.

Georgie Snow (Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts) had a game-high 13 face-off victories.
