NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Freshman
Kiki Huntress (Kittery Point, Maine/Traip Academy) had a goal and an assist to lead the University of Southern Maine to a 4-0 shut out victory over the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs in a Little East Conference women's soccer game Saturday at Cressy Field.
Playing in the 34
th game in the series between the two schools, Southern Maine is now 5-0-0 in its last five match ups with the Corsairs. The series is even at 15-15-4.

How It Happened:
- The Huskies scored three goals in the first half taking control of the game early. Huntress put USM up 1-0 in the eighth minute with her second goal of the season.
- Junior Emma Forgues (Gorham, Maine) doubled the Huskies lead on an assist from senior Alex Allain (Carmel, Maine/Hermon) in the 20th minute.
- USM took a 3-0 lead just before the break as senior Ciera Berthiaume (Windam, Maine) found the back of the net on a feed from Huntress in the 43rd.
- Sophomore Mia Sargent (Portland, Maine/Deering) capped the Huskies' scoring netting her second goal of the season in the 65th minute for the 4-0 final.
Inside The Stats:
- USM outshot the Corsairs 28-7 and 15-2 on frame. The Huskies held a smaller margin, 3-2, in corner kicks.
- Berthiaume's goal in the 43rd minute is the 30th of her career. She now has 30 goals and 14 assists for 74 points, equaling the Huskies' career points record held by Husky Hall of Famer Ali Hathaway '01. Berthiaume set the school record for goal in a career earlier this season.
- Allain's assist is her second of the season and 13th of her career. She is now tied for third in USM career assists. She has 13 goals and 13 assists in 49 career games with the Huskies for 39 points.
- Huntress, a defensive midfielder for USM, has recorded a point in two of the Huskies last three games. She registered her first career assist in today's contest.
The Goalkeepers:
- Sophomore Bre Atwood (Franklin, Mass.) made both saves needed of her in the win. She is 6-2-2 with a pair of shutouts.
- Freshman Jessica Costa (Fall River, Mass./Diman) made a career and season-high 11 saves in the loss.
