Box Score             NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- Junior Josh Chao (New Bedford, Mass.) scored two goals as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Corsairs cruised by the visiting University of Southern Maine Huskies, 5-0, in a Little East Conference men's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Cressy Field.
            The win lifts the Corsairs record to 2-1 in Little East play and 6-3 overall.  The Huskies remain winless on the season falling to 0-3 in the conference and 0-11-1 overall.
            Chao gave the home side a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute of play converting a feed from senior Adam Philbin (Cumberland, R.I.) into his fourth marker of the season.  Philbin would double the Corsairs' lead with an unassisted goal in the 14th minute.
            Chao ignited the scoring in the second half picking up an unassisted marker after making a move around the USM goalkeeper in the 54th minute.  Junior John Macaroco (New Bedford, Mass.) made it 4-0 in the 60th minute knocking in a pass from senior Victor Ferreira (St. Michael, Portugal).
            Sophomore Etiene Niyonsaba (Worcester, Mass.) closed the scoring in the 67th minute with his first goal of the season.  Junior Alex Machado (New Bedford, Mass.) picked up the assist.
            With the Corsairs dominating the play, UMD rookie goalkeeper Luis Carranza (New Bedford, Mass.) did not need to record a save to collect the shutout.  USM freshman Matthew Willis (Standish, Maine/Bonny Eagle) registered 12 saves.  UMD outshot USM 32-0 and had a 16-2 advantage in corner kicks.
            Southern Maine is back in action on Monday (4:00 p.m.) hosting the University of New England.  UMD will host Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Tuesday (7:00 p.m.).  Both matches are non-conference matches.
