Plymouth State Runs Over Southern Maine 3-0

GORHAM, Maine  –  Junior outside hitter Casey Stoodley (Salem, N.H.) had six kills on seven attacks to lead the Plymouth State University Panthers to a 3-0 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a Little East Conference women's volleyball match Tuesday night at Hill Gymnasium in Gorham, Maine. 

         The Panthers defeated the Huskies 25-4, 25-16 and 25-6 to earn their second straight victory and improve to 14-8 overall and 3-1 in the Little East Conference.  With the loss, the Huskies remain winless on the season and fall to 0-14 and 0-4 in the LEC.

         Stoodley added three service aces to help the Panthers, while freshman middle hitter Jana Nieman (Fair Lawn, N.J.) added five kills and a pair of block assists. 

         Southern Maine sophomore outside hitter Annie Mitchell (Gorham, Maine) and junior middle blocker Krista Keene (Gorham, Maine) each had two kills.  Mitchell added 11 digs and a pair of service aces. 

         Southern Maine travels to UMaine Farmington on Wednesday (7:00 p.m.).  Plymouth State travels to St. Michael's College on Wednesday (7:00 p.m.).
