Toby Martin

            Following athree-year career playing professional basketball in Germany forthe Qtsu Dragons, Toby Martin will take her turn on the sidelinesas an assistant coach for the USM women’s basketballteam.  One of the top high school players in the State ofMaine, Martin graduated from Maranacook High School in 2005 as a1000-point score and three-time Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference(KVAC) Player of the Year (2003, 2004 and 2005) and a two-timeAll-State selection (2004 and 2005). 

           After high school, Martin played at Division II Franklin PierceUniversity where she earned a degree in Journalism in 2009 aftergraduating Magna Cum Laude. While playing for the Ravens, Martinhelped her team win the 2009 Northeast 10 ConferenceChampionship.  During the 2009 season, Martin was named to theNCAA Regional All-Tournament team as the Ravens captured its secondconsecutive NCAA Regional Championship and went on to play in theNCAA Division II National Championship game. 

           Along with her coaching duties, Martin is interning in the USMAthletic Department and is enrolled in graduateschool.
