    Men's Track and Field Assistant Coach

           Libby Bischof, entering her fifth season as an assistant coach withthe men's track and field program, is an assistant professor in thehistory department at the University of Southern Maine.

           She joined the women's track and field program as the throws coachin January 2008, and took on the added responsibilities of throwscoach for the men's team in 2009.

           During her undergraduate years (1995-1999) at Boston College, shecompeted in the throwing events, and was captain of the team duringthe 1998 and 1999 seasons.  She was the first woman to throwthe hammer over 160 feet, and her hammer throw record of 161 feet,9 inches stood for 10 years.

           Bischof coached varsity field hockey in Hopkinton, Mass., for sixyears while attending graduate school at B.C.  She receivedher master's degree in 2001, and her Ph.D. in 2005.
