           Entering his eighth season as a member of the Huskies coachingstaff, Kevin Smith will work with the pitching staff again thisseason.

           Prior to joining the Huskies staff, Smith served as an assistantcoach at Portland High School and with the Andrew Post AmericanLegion team for six seasons (2001-2006), and as an assistant coachat Cheverus High School for three seasons (1998-2000).

           Smith’s collegiate playing career included stints at SeminoleCommunity College (1981), the University of Miami (1982-83) andFlorida State University (1985).  He was a member ofMiami’s national championship team in 1982, and part ofFSU’s Metro Conference championship squad in 1985.

           After his collegiate playing days, he was drafted by the HoustonAstros organization, and spent two seasons in the minorleagues.  Smith also was drafted after his season at SeminoleCC by the Boston Red Sox, but elected to go to Miami.

            Smith resides in Portland, Maine.
