Ben White

Ben White joined the University of Southern Maine staff as Assistant Director of Athletics / Ice Arena Manager in October of 2022. 

Prior to arriving at USM, White served as Director of Fitness & Recreation University of Maine at Farmington for three years. While  White oversaw all aspects of the university’s recreation program including budget management, staff supervision, and facility management of the university’s Fitness & Recreation Center.
 
In addition to his time at UMF, White has extensive experience in the campus recreation and facilities management industries. He has held positions at Brandeis University, Fitchburg State University, Bridgewater State University, and Oregon State University. He also has worked as vice president and chief operating officer at DSE Rec Software, a company that develops and sells software for the college recreation market.
 
White graduated from Stonehill College in 2000 with a degree in psychology and minored in sociology. Following his graduation from Stonehill he attended Oregon State where he worked as graduate assistant for intramural sports while pursuing his master’s degree in exercise and sport science. He graduated from Oregon State in 2002.
