Annual Husky Golf Classic

Hosted annually, the Husky Golf Classic has occurred 36 times and serves as a key fundraiser for a variety of University of Southern Maine Athletic programs. The Husky Golf Classic directly supports our USM student-athletes, the athletic department and its many programs.  Funds raised from this annual event have helped fund intercollegiate team budgets, the William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete awards banquet and the Huskies' Senior Night activities.

Below you will find information for the 2026 Husky Golf Classic.

Dear Friends:

Please join us on Monday, August 10, for the 37th Annual Husky Golf Classic held at the Poland Spring Golf Course.

Continuing  the great history and tradition of the USM Husky Golf Classic, we look to providing a fun-filled day of golf, prizes, food, and camaraderie at one of Maine’s most historic golf courses.

The Husky Golf Classic continues to attract a great mix of alumni, friends, business leaders, parents, students, and staff. Your participation in the Husky Golf Classic will directly benefits our student-athletes, our 23 athletic programs, and help us continue to build, and maintain important relationships within our community.

Funds raised from the Husky Golf Classic directly supports our men's and women's golf teams.  Led by head coach, and Husky alum Brian Bickford '87, the Huskies' men's golf team defended its Little East Conference title, capturing the 2025 crown and competing in the 2026 NCAA Division III National Championship tournament.  In its second season, Huskies' women's golf finished third in its inaugural LEC tournament and Remy Levin became the conference's first individual medalists.

In addition to supporting the golf programs we continue to work toward, raising funds to build a hitting pavilion in support of the baseball and softball programs. This pavilion honors USM alumni, and long-time staff member Vinnie Degifico '94, who tragically passed away a year ago.

The USM athletic community has a rich athletic history that I am honored to now be a part of. While you all have accomplished so much, we still have work to be done as we work to be a preeminent athletic program within the LEC, and nationally. Your participation in special events, and your direct support of Huskies' Athletics is critical, and sincerely appreciated.

We hope you will join us as a player and/or sponsor of this year's Husky Golf Classic. Thank you very much!

Go Huskies!
