LAKE MYRTLE, Florida   – The No. 6 Salve Regina University Seahawks defeated the University of Southern Maine Huskies' baseball team 21-11 in a high-scoring affair at the RussMatt Invitational on Tuesday evening. The game began on Monday afternoon but was halted due to weather with the Seahawks leading 19-10 in the top of the sixth inning. The action picked back up on Tuesday afternoon as the teams completed the sixth and seventh innings.

How It Happened:
- Salve Regina scored one run in the top of the first thanks to a single by Shane Williams. The Huskies started the game with back-to-back-to-back singles by Baschnagel, Douin and Keblinsky, the last of which scored a run. Southern Maine then scored two more runs of a fielder's choice by sophomore Caleb Vacchiano (Cornish, Maine/Sacopee Valley) and a single by junior Quinn Dillon (Gorham, Maine).
- The Seahawks scored four more times in the second thanks to three hits, a walk and two batters getting hit by a pitch. The Huskies got a run back in the bottom half of the inning on a solo shot by Baschnagel.
- Salve Regina scored three runs in the tops of third and fourth innings to extend their lead to 11-4. Southern Maine scored three times in the third on another homer by Baschnagel, a balk and an RBI groundout by Vacchiano.
- Baschnagel drove in Morin with a single for the only run of the second inning. The Huskies added another pair of runs in the third on RBI singles by Dillon and Higgins.
- Salve Regina belted out six runs on four hits in the fifth thanks largely to a three-run blast by Brady Smolinski.
- Juniors Mike Anquillare (North Haven, Conn) and Carter Higgins (Truro, Nova Scotia/Cobequid Educational Centre) each homered in the bottom half of the fifth for the Huskies to make the score 17-10.
- Salve Regina pushed four more runs across in the top of the sixth, two of which came on Tuesday after the game resumed.
- Senior Chris Quigley (Halifax, Mass.) hit a pinch-hit homer in the bottom of the seventh for the 21-11 final.
