How It Happened:
- Southern Maine took an early lead scoring twice in the top of the first off of the bat of Scialdone. Scialdone collected a pair of RBI with a single to left field that scored Keblinksy and senior Kyle Douin (Augusta, Maine/Cony).
- McDonald started strong for the Huskies retiring Colby in order in the bottom of the first and then getting three groundouts to short in the second to work around a two-out single.
- Colby tied the game up at 2-2 in the bottom of the third as Henry Silva led off with a double and scored on a sacrifice to make it a one-run game before Myles Gythfeldt singled to left for an RIB scoring Corey Aubuchon who had reached on a walk.
- After a scoreless fourth and fifth from both sides, Southern Maine pushed three runs across the plate in the top of the sixth. With one out, Quinn Dillon and Carter Higgins each singled to right before coming around to score on a pair of Colby throwing errors. After the Mules issued an intentional walk to Douin to give USM runners on first and third, Keblinsky drove in a run with an RBI ground up for a 5-2 Husky lead.
- In the seventh, Colby's Aubuchon knocked an RBI single through the left side off of USM junior Carson Black in relief making it a 5-3 game; however, Southern Maine came back for two runs in the top of the eighth. Higgins started the inning with a lead off singled and moved to third on a walk and a wild pitch. After Douin was issued another intentional walk, Keblinsky picked up another RBI with a strong at-bat earning a walk to score Higgins. The Huskies scored one more on a double-play ball for a solid 7-3 lead.
- Aubuchon came through again for Colby in the bottom of the eighth with a two-out two-run single to right, making it an 7-5 game, but Southern Maine's Douin drew an RBI walk in the top of the ninth to bring the Huskies' lead back to three, 8-5.
- In the Mules' final turn at bat, Hudson responded after yielding a lead-off single with back-to-back strikeouts before ending the game on a fly ball to right for the 8-5 final, and save.
