GORHAM, Maine – Director of Intercollegiate Athletics & Recreation John Sutyak has announced that the University of Southern Maine will begin working with Influxer to expand Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities for Huskies student-athletes.

As NIL continues to evolve across Division III athletics, the University of Southern Maine's focus remains simple: provide meaningful opportunities that support the full student-athlete experience. Through this collaboration, Huskies will have access to a personalized merchandise platform that allows them to create and sell custom gear featuring their name, number, and officially licensed university marks.

Each participating student-athlete will have access to an individual online storefront, along with educational support that goes beyond merchandise sales. Influxer provides one-on-one guidance on topics such as branding, social media strategy, financial literacy, and contract fundamentals. The company also offers paid internship opportunities on partner campuses, giving interested students hands-on experience in marketing, graphic design, and business operations.

"Influxer is excited to work with the University of Southern Maine because John Sutyak and the athletic administration understand not only the immediate benefits of NIL, but also the long-term developmental impact for student-athletes," said Influxer Vice President Keith Miller. "NIL should be more than a transaction, it should be part of the overall growth process."

The platform is free for USM student-athletes to use and is non-exclusive, allowing them to pursue additional NIL opportunities independently. Once a student-athlete opts in, their merchandise will be available through the official University of Southern Maine Influxer storefront, where fans can browse by sport and shop a variety of items including hats, shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys, and more.

"We are pleased to bring this opportunity to our student-athletes," said Sutyak. "This platform not only provides a chance for our students to promote their teams and themselves, but also access to educational resources that will serve them after their time at the USM."

Influxer manages all production, fulfillment, and customer service, while working collaboratively with University of Southern Maine staff and student-athletes to ensure the platform reflects the pride and identity of Husky Athletics.
