GORHAM, Maine – Mya Perron recorded a game-high 19 kills to lead the UMass Boston Beacons to a 3-0 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's volleyball team on Wednesday night in Little East Conference action. Senior
Kylee Eubanks-Hemme (Rosamond, Cali.) led the Huskies with seven kills. Sophomore
Lizzy Harbester (Plympton, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) and senior
Anyelis Hernandez (Lawrence, Mass.) tied for second on the team in kills with six each. Harbester also led all players in total blocks with four.

UMass Boston's Audrey Cofield led all plays in assists with 36, while junior
Alexis Tortola (Rowland Heights, Cali./Bishop Amat) led the Huskies with 13. Freshman
Sofia Daoud (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) recorded nine digs to lead the Huskies and Ashlee Wudi led the Beacons with 15.

How it Happened:
- UMass Boston started the opening set with a 7-0 run to set the tone early. The set ended 25-15 in their favor despite a strong effort from the Huskies that saw 10 of their points come on kills. Eubanks-Hemme recorded three of those kills.
- The Huskies broke an 8-8 tie with a 5-0 run to go ahead 13-8 in the second set before the Beacons rallied back with a 6-0 run to take a 16-14 lead. Southern Maine tied the score at 16-16 thanks to back-to-back blocks from Hernandez and the pair of Harbester and sophomore Haylie Bidegain (Logan, N.M), however, a 5-0 run helped the Beacons regain the lead and pull away for a 25-18 win.
- The Beacons added another 12 kills in a 25-20 third set to take the match. Harbester and Hernandez each had three kills for the Huskies.

- The Beacons led 42-27 in kills, 9-3 in aces, 41-26 in assists and 42-39 in digs.
- The Huskies had a 7-4 lead in total blocks thanks to strong play from Harbester with four, and Bidegain and sophomore Scarlett Squires (Mount Desert, Maine/Mount Desert Island) with two. The team's seven total blocks are a season high.
- Senior Amelia Beatty (Rochester, N.H./Spaulding) played in 99th career match tonight. Her next match will make her the 16th player in program history to hit the century mark.
